The Smithtown Fire Department Explorer Post 420 recently traveled to Connecticut to compete in the 1st Annual Muster and Field Day at Indian Wells State Park in Shelton.
The Explorer’s made the SFD proud taking first place in Ladders, Sprinkler Shut Off and Midnight Alarm. They also received the Best Team Spirit Award.
The Awards were formally presented at the Department meeting this past Monday evening.
Smithtown Fire Department Explorer Post 420 held their annual installation of officers at the main house on Friday night, May 2, 2008.
Laura O’Brien was sworn in as Captain. Chief of Department Thomas Duckham presided over the ceremony.

Smithtown Explorer Post 420 held a meeting on Friday, March 14, 2008. The teenage Post meets every other Friday night. Open to all members of the community 14 years of age and older, the Explorers, sponsored by the Department, did a hands on SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) drill.
